Who uses a semi-colon in an album title? Slim Cessna’s Auto Club, that’s who – they do everything differently. I’m finally publishing my zoom interview from the end of July. I only wish I had delved into more questioning with Slim at 17:17 about the way that only certain styles and genres of country music are played on broadcast media, while often more thoughtful music must be sought out.
The other point I would have like to have expanded on was at 33:23 regarding the meaning of the lyrics to ‘Boucher,’ the first song on their new album, The Kinnery Of Lupercalia;Buell Legion (my review is here.) It’s much more than a song about the trauma of being misunderstood, and more about the power of the imagination to make disappointment tolerable.
Anyway, this was lots of fun. I am thankful to Munly J. Munly and Slim Cessna for their insights and time.
