The lead single from Black Bomber’s forthcoming album Vive La Révolution bursts out of your speakers with immense power and rage. Built upon the classic punk tradition but transformed with mature political wisdom, ‘The Price’ calls out any of us who find ourselves benefiting from the present Western economic situation.

Steve Critall is the new band’s new guitarist, and the blazing fury of his power chords are most present, along with the bombastic drums of Dave Twist, throbbing bass of Darren Birch. Lest we not forget, the torrent of protest pouring from vocalist Alan Byron is most effective and surely cathartic for him and the audience.

Black Bombers Find Callousness In Western Political And Economic Culture

All the rough edges are left on, though the recording is pristine, produced and mixed by Alex McGowan (Urban Voodoo Machine, Son Of Dave, Jim Jones & The Righteous Mind) and Steve Crittall. The entire album Vive La Révolution was recorded at Space Eko East Studios in North London.

There’s lots of legacy artists here, though the message and strength of their writing and performances have not been muted by time. Quite the contrary.  There’s incredible power here, in the great tradition of OG punk rock from the US and Britain, as well as the proto punk of garage rock. Members of Black Bombers have worked with TV Eye, The Prefects, The Hawks, Gunfire Dance, The Godfathers, Walter Lure of The Heartbreakers, Horsefeathers, The Name, UK Subs, and Disobedient Servants.

Vive La Révolution will release on January 26.
